hello,

I performed a 2 pass cloning. 1 pass ok.
During the 2nd pass I had brocken the head (attuator arm) 2 times. I had changed it 2 times and restarted the 2nd pass without problems.

Now, at the 3rd head change, when I select the source disk I get a mbr unreadable and I cannot continue the 2nd pass.

Is there a way to restart the 2nd pass from the last position bypassing the step where diskpatch read the mbr (when I select the source disk)?

tks

From the sound of it, no. But if you finished the first pass you might already be pretty good to go, you should see how that first pass turned out. Either try to access the disk (if the clone went pretty good) or use iRecover to copy files from the clone (if normal access isn't possible).

Ok but I suggest you to implement a new function to restart the 1st or 2nd pass exactly from the stop point (abort or reset...)!
At this point I am able to read the good areas but diskpatch is unable to restart the clone process because some initial information are no longer readable.

You are right about the possibility to extract data at this point but we can do more!!!

Do you think to implement a new feature for my case???
thanks for your answer

The re-start ability improvement for cloning is on the to-do list, but that won't be implemented very soon. It will come though.
