Hi
I have included below the two log  files from a hard  disk.
The computer is a Packard Bell 6 t0 8 years old, my grand sons.
as far as I know the original os was vista but has  been changed to win xp.
What else has  been done to it I do  not know.
The os will  not load.
Error  message appears saying:

Windows could not start because/Windows/system32/config/system
is missing or corrupt
I  have no setup or windows cd. 
The disk appears ok to me, but perhaps you can check the logs.

The logs show problems but none of them cause the error you seem to get. That error is caused by a corruption in Windows system files. That in turn could be the result of the disk going bad (read problems means that Windows can not get to its files) but that does not (yet) seem to be the case here. So it's a Windows problem at this point, which means that you'll have to fix that yourself.
