I have a Hard Drive that just crashed, I guess. My Laptop was working, and then all of a sudden it got slow and a blue screen appeared. I did not pay attention to the message as I generally just reboot and the problem does not reappear. However in this case when the laptop rebooted it reported that there was no hard drive. I took the hard drive out of the laptop and attempted to access it from my computer via a USB Dock. I get a message that says "The Volume does not contain a recognized files system. Please make sue that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted"

Does one of your programs help to solve this issue? I am not sure what to do.

Hello,

From what little info we have I'd say this is not something that is solved easily. Maybe a DiskPatch Support Analysis log file would provide more info.

However, I think you should aim for rescuing the data from the disk for which you will need a working PC to which you can attach the hard disk as a secondary disk and you can run iRecover from.

To clarify: what we need is explained here:

If the log you posted is for the disk that has the problem(s), it's not telling us much. There is no complete scan, so nothing of interest is found. Please make sure that the disk that has problems is the one that you are scanning, this one appears to be a non-bootable disk so it wasn't the primary disk in any laptop.

The symptoms could point in the direction of hardware failure; it might be wise to make sure that the disk is in good working order. A read-only surface scan might tell us more (if the disk is connected through USB the SMART test will not work).

Please run and post another, running the pre-vista scan.
Again, this shows nothing of interest (meaning, no alarm bells just yet), but that may be because of the wrong scan type.
