When I start DiskPatch, it complains Startup Check requires attention, bliniks an exclamation point in the entry called Disk Overlay, and (three) lines of format Disk1 (physical) [number of sectors on drive] [size in GB] 255 63 (BIOS) are displayed in blinking red Sad.  What does it mean?
Do i dare proceed with rebuilding the partitions?
(Does this change the actual disk configuration, or is it merely virtual?)

Please read the corresponding part of the manual, it explains these things rather nicely:

If you have any further questions please ask.
