We are trying to retrieve info after our computer crashed last week. We were able to get the computer to start and work, but unfortunately it was reset back to 2010- losing photos and documents since then. We first tried iundelete on the shorter scan and it looked like some things were there.  We then set up the long scan and it has been scanning for a week now.  Is that typical?  Should we keep being patient or is that too long, and not working? Thanks.

A week is too long. What is the disk size, and do you know anything about the disk's content? Loads of small files, or big files?

How was the PC reset to 2010? Through System Restore? Which Windows version is running?

Thanks for the quick reply but I think we are going to take our pc in to be safe. We aborted the scan since it didn't work. Is there any way to get a refund, and if so, how? Thanks.

Sure, just send the order details to me at tom@diydatarecovery.nl and refer to this thread.
Sorry it didn't work out.
