I have found my external hard drive which is connected by an usb port is not recognised by diskpatch.  is this correct ?

Hello,

We find that most modern PCs and laptops show USB disks to DiskPatch just fine. If you have a relatively modern PC there, you may need to examine the BIOS setup and look for settings as 'legacy USB support' and if found make sure those are enabled.
