Hello, I have windows vista. Right now, when I turn on the computer it automaticallys goes to the startup repair prompt, then fails, and then I can have access to MS DOS. That's as far as it goes. Can Diskpatch through MS DOS fix this? If so how so? I have no problem paying for the registered program to fix this, I just don't know where to begin! I was thinking of needing Diskpatch to get my computer to boot to windows, and then using irecovery once windows boot to fix any loss hard drive data...perhaps that is the right thinking process? Thanks!

Hello,

If it gets as far as a prompt, then the partition table and boot sector are intact. So DiskPatch will not be of help. The problem is within Windows, so data recovery is not the way to go here. You either need to repair Windows, or copy the data from the drive using other means (if data needs to be rescued). We don't deal with Windows repair situations.
