Hi there,

I am working on a Windows 98 system. I have an image of the hard drive of the system that I am trying to to boot the system with, but I get an error saying" Operating System not found". My initial research and understanding is that the BIOS is unable to locate the MBR. Also I did change the BIOS to recognize the new harddrive but get the same error.

Some background on what hard drive works and what doesnot. There is this test system we pruchased from the vendor and thus it came with the hard drive. We asked the guy to image the original harddrive on a different HD that we provided, so that we have a back up in case of system crash. But now when we are trying to boot the system with this HD with the image it says "OS not found".

Please suggest as to how this issue can be resolved.

Hello,

But if you attach this disk to a working system (as secondary harddisk), can you then access the partition?
