Hello,

If you are running from CD, having DOS files on the USB stick or not makes no difference. Question is if the PC can treat the USB stick as a 'legacy disk' and if the stick is formatted with a file system we can access from DOS: FAT or FAT32. if it is treated as a normal hard disk and it is formatted FAT(32), then you should be able to quit DiskPatch and from the DOS prompt access the c: drive (assuming that all other drives are NTFS - which will not be assigned a drive letter). From the '-DiskPatch Boot Disk' prompt you should be able to do dir c: [enter].

What may be even easier is trying to boot from the USB disk: Start > Programs > DIY DataRecovery Diskpatch 3 > Create bootable USB key for DiskPatch.

Greetings,

Thanks for your reply.  I gave up on using the USB at this time and instead used the floppy.   All went well I did get the log files.  I will start another post instead of adding to this one.

I know the next computer won't have a floppy since that technology is all but dead so, I will, more than likely, need to get your assistance to to get that USB going.

Again thanks.
