Greetings,

I'm a paid user of DiskPatch--recently was trying to move some data off an older drive with a USB drive adapter.  Mid-way through the transfer I received some data transfer errors and the transfer aborted.  Shortly after that the operating system of the machine I was trying to transfer data on locked up.  I had to forcibly reboot, and after that the drive appeared as RAW / unformatted.  I tried running DiskPatch on it to recover the partition, but I still have the same result.  I don't need to get the drive booting again, but I'd like to recover some data files off of it.  I don't currently own iRecover and I wonder if it might be helpful in a case such as this one?

Thanks,

scotru

Well, if DiskPatch can't fix the problem than the next step usually is file recovery, a la iRecover. Keep in mind though that iRecover doesn't repair anything; it copies files from the damaged volume to safety. So in your case, yes, you could let iRecover rescue the files.
