Here's my story:
The OS is Win 2k SP4. Raid controller is a SIIG pci add on card, 4 channel SATA. OS boots from a mirror set connected to 2 of the channels. Another data drive is connected to the 3rd channel.
I wanted to add another data drive to the 4th channel. I then discovered that there seems to be a problem with SATA controllers based on Silicon Image 3112 and 3114 ic's. They hang up during boot up with drives larger than 500 gb. SIIG has available a newer bios. I disconnected the drives from the controller, booted to DOS and flashed the new bios. After reconnecting the drives it does recognize the new 1.5 tb drive but as the Windows splash screen is about 3/4 the way through I get the blue screen Inaccessible_boot_Device.
I haven't done anything else to this point. Can you suggest a path from here?
My Diskpatch and iRecover versions may be a bit outdated now. I have DP 3 and iRecover 1. Do I need upgrades to complete a repair?

Regards,
Mark M.

If any windows screen appears you are past the potential MBR and/or boot problems that DiskPatch can fix. It sounds like a very specific hardware related problem, and I don't think you need to look in the volume damage area. It's more likely to be a disk or controller related issue. Maybe creating a support analysis log sheds some more light on this, please post one for the current setup.

Does switching disks around change anything? Like, disconnecting the large disk, does that allow windows to boot? Maybe by disconnecting disks and testing things you can deduce where the problem originates.
