When I double click : Windows File Not Found

I have a problem with my PC, when I double click on a Windows file e.g. JPEG, I get Windows File not found. I know it is there because I just opened the folder and I can see it. However, a second later the JPEG file will pop's up. So I don't know what this delayed reaction is. I don't know what is going on.....

I can't hear any unusual noises from my PC e.g. clicking.

Also a number of times, I have to run chkdsk when it boots up.... and also a Windows doing a Windows dump.

No new devices added.

I have actually had problems on this PC before. Funnily enough it was about 2 years ago and I bought diskpatch and irecover, but this time I don't hear the same clicking noises. Also, problem happened summer time. Though every component except for memory and mobo and CPU have been changed......


So I am not sure if is just a case of Windows having messed up the file system?

No errors using HDD smart....

I am not really sure it is something we can help you with .. Maybe you best sent the disk health report logfile, please see:
http://www.diydatarecovery.nl/dp_manual/guide_smartcheck.htm

No new devices, new software maybe? Can even be a automatic virus scan engine update that causes something like this. And also a good place to look is the Windows event logfiles.

At this point, based on the logs, we have no reason to believe that the cause of your current problem lies with the disk. The logs show nothing that warrants immediate action, so the problem is most likely windows related. There are some things you can try to figure out what the cause is: run in safe mode to see if the problem still manifests itself, or disable tasks and see if anything changes.

There is one thing that stands out from the smart log you posted: a read error count. You may wish to run your disk's manufacturer diagnostics tools to see if that is a problem. Watch out for diagnostics that wipe the disk, some tests may be destructive. If you wish you can post a smart check log from our tool, follow the guide if you wish to do so:
