My WinXP was running and suddenly crashed, since then I only get de "missing operating system" message.

Downloaded DiskPatch and tried to test my HD.

The DiskPatch opinion on my disk is:

Encountered unrecoverable error
Address 78334
Error 11
Unforeseen runtime error

What does this means? Thanks.

Hello,

Itīs a devision by zero error: DiskPatch requests details on the disk and itīs geometry. It is illegal for those values to be zero and if they are DiskPatch will run into error 11. Sometimes we see this with USB keys or other removable disks. So you can try to run only with the problem disk attached to the PC, remove all disks that arenīt involved. If it is however the disk you are trying to repair that is reporting invalid disk geometry then there is not much that we can do.

BTW: did DiskPatch write a logfile, and if so, can you paste itīs contents here.
