iUndelete™: fast and easy file undeleting
iUndelete™ introduction

iUndelete makes file undeleting from FAT, FAT32 and NTFS volumes easy. It helps you recover deleted documents, photos, archives or any other file types from hard drives, flash drives, USB drives, ZIP, SD Cards, MMC, and Firewire drives.

Unlike many other deleted file recovery utilities, iUndelete tries to make deleted file recovery as simple as possible. Although file systems are complex, the procedure for locating deleted files is fairly straight forward because the file system itself is intact. iUndelete's interface reflects this 'straight-forwardness' by avoiding the need for 'wizards' as seen in so many other, overly complicated deleted file recovery utilities.

Only two steps are needed to recover your deleted files: first select the drive from which the files were deleted, then find the files and copy them to a safe place. That's all!

Important:
- Do not save or install iUndelete on the drive that contains the lost data.
- Do not save the recovered files to the drive you are recovering from.

If you have only one partition and need to recover files from it
(and you have not yet installed iUndelete)
:

Stop all non data recovery related processes and tasks. These include automatic update tasks (Windows, Virus Scanners), backup jobs, network sharing services, peer to peer download programs, CD/DVD-burn sessions etc. Under no circumstances should you attempt to defrag the drive or allow 'chkdsk' to run. You may want to consider disconnecting the PC from the internet before shutting down firewalls/virus-scanners.

Then install iUndelete on another PC and copy the program file ("iUndelete.exe") to a USB key (a USB key is preferred because it can also hold the recovered files). Then plug the USB key into the PC that holds the deleted files and run iUndelete directly from the USB key.
